The appliances at this location are commonly used by UCSB student tenants. The outdated machines were the source of numerous complaints, leading manager Richard Doherty to decide that an upgrade was necessary. Along with the new machines, Doherty wanted to implement a fully digital payment system. This change, featuring Speed Queen Machines and the PayRange payment system, has led to significant satisfaction and plenty of smiles from the student population living there.
